Cancelling Airtable

About 15 minutes · Medium

  1. Count your records against the free limits

Bases over the free record limit go read-only rather than being deleted.

  2. Export every base you care about as CSV

  3. Sign in and open the workspace billing settings

  4. Cancel or downgrade the plan

What happens after you cancel
Nothing is deleted, but bases over the free record limit become READ-ONLY, and a read-only base that something else depends on — a form still collecting, an automation still firing, an integration still writing — is a quiet breakage rather than a loud one. Export every base you care about as CSV first. Attachments are the part people forget. They are stored by Airtable and are not in a CSV export; if there are files in there you need, pull them down separately. Automations, sync and the higher API limits are paid features and stop. Billing is per seat on a workspace, so removing collaborators is a different action from cancelling, and a continuing charge after cancellation usually means a second workspace. An annual plan runs to the end of its term.

What else are you paying for?

Find possible recurring subscriptions in your bank statement. Cancel OS reads a statement export you give it and flags the charges that look recurring, for you to confirm.
