Save your files in a format you can open without the software
- Notice period
- None — cancelling takes effect straight away.
- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- The thing to plan for is FILE ACCESS. Autodesk software stops opening when the subscription ends, and DWG, RVT and the rest are not formats you can casually open in something else. Before the term runs out, export what matters to something durable — PDF, DXF, STEP, IGES, depending on the product — because doing it afterwards means resubscribing to get at your own drawings. Cancelling within the first thirty days of a new subscription is generally refundable. After that, turning off auto-renew is what stops the next charge and the current term still runs to its end — you keep the software until then, which is the window to do the exporting in. Cloud storage, rendering credits and collaboration features stop with the subscription. Autodesk sells per-product, so if a charge continues after you cancel, look for a second product on the same account.

What else are you paying for?
Find possible recurring subscriptions in your bank statement. Cancel OS reads a statement export you give it and flags the charges that look recurring, for you to confirm.
