Find your commitment end date first
French Canal+ contracts commonly run 12 or 24 months. Leaving early is expensive.
Send the cancellation in writing
Canal+ asks for a written request, historically by registered post, and now also through the account area.

- What happens after you cancel
- Canal+ is a commitment contract, not a streaming toggle, and that is the whole difficulty. Subscriptions are commonly sold with a TWELVE OR TWENTY-FOUR MONTH commitment, and ending one inside that period means paying the remaining instalments unless you have a recognised legal ground — a move abroad, long-term hospitalisation, unemployment, and similar. Those grounds need documents. Find your commitment end date before you do anything else, because it decides whether this is a routine notice or an expensive one. Cancel in writing and keep dated proof; registered post remains the form that ends arguments, and it is what French consumer practice expects for this kind of contract. If Canal+ lent you a decoder, it has to go back, and unreturned-equipment charges are a common sting after the fact. Keep the return receipt until the final bill clears.
