Move your DNS before downgrading or removing a zone
Removing a zone while Cloudflare is your nameserver takes the site offline.

Downgrade each zone and cancel the paid add-ons separately

- DNS IS THE DANGER. If Cloudflare is your authoritative nameserver — which it is for most people who use it — then removing a zone or letting things lapse points your domain at nothing, and the website and the EMAIL both stop. Move DNS to another provider and confirm it has propagated before you touch anything in Cloudflare. Do it in that order. DOMAIN REGISTRATION is separate from every plan. If you registered or transferred a domain to Cloudflare Registrar, it renews on its own annual cycle regardless of whether you have any paid plan, and cancelling a plan does not cancel it. Equally, letting the registration lapse loses the domain, which is far worse than a subscription charge. Cloudflare bills per zone and per product: Workers, R2, Images, Stream, Access and the rest are each their own subscription on the same account. Cancelling one leaves the others. Go through the billing list rather than assuming a plan downgrade covered everything.
