What happens after you cancel
Export the contact list, the tags and the consent records first — they are the asset, and consent evidence is what makes the list usable in another tool under GDPR or CAN-SPAM. Download the campaign reporting too, because open and click history goes with the account. Signup forms embedded on your website keep appearing after you cancel and quietly collect nothing. Take them down or repoint them as part of leaving. Scheduled campaigns do not send. Constant Contact bills by contact count and by month; prepaid periods run to their end and the unused part is not refunded. Check explicitly that AUTO-RENEWAL shows as off rather than assuming that cancelling handled it — that is the step people skip, and it is the one that generates the surprise charge.

What else are you paying for?

Find possible recurring subscriptions in your bank statement. Cancel OS reads a statement export you give it and flags the charges that look recurring, for you to confirm.
