UNINSTALL THE AGENTS
Hosts reporting to Datadog keep being billed. Removing the agent is what stops it.

- Notice period
- None — cancelling takes effect straight away. Annual commitments renew automatically; on-demand usage above the commitment is billed on top.
- How you will know it worked
- Support ticket reply.
- What happens after you cancel
- Datadog bills for what is REPORTING, so the cancellation that matters is technical, not administrative: every host still running the agent, every container, every custom metric and every log line keeps counting. Uninstall the agents and turn off the integrations, then deal with the contract. Doing it the other way round produces a final invoice nobody expected. Annual commitments renew automatically, and usage above the committed volume is billed on top at on-demand rates — which is why bills can rise in a month when nothing was deliberately changed. Find your commitment term and renewal date, and read what notice the agreement requires. Export your dashboards and monitor definitions before access ends. They represent a lot of accumulated work and they are exportable as JSON. Historical metrics are not portable and go with the account.
