- Export what you need before you cancel. Descript's paid plans buy transcription hours, higher-quality export and the AI features; on the free tier those shrink sharply, and a project you can still open is not the same as a project you can still export at full quality. Watermark-free and high-resolution export is a paid feature. Your projects and files are not deleted by cancelling — the account stays and the work is still there — but the tools to get finished video out of it are what you are giving up. The plan runs to the end of the period already paid for. An annual plan runs out its year. If you subscribed through an app store rather than descript.com, that store holds the payment.
