What happens after you cancel
Two things bite here and neither is data loss. PULL RATE LIMITS. Free Docker Hub accounts are rate-limited on image pulls, and CI pipelines pull far more than a person does. Dropping to free frequently turns into builds failing with "too many requests" a day or two later, and the cause is rarely obvious from the error. If your pipelines pull from Docker Hub, plan for a registry mirror or authenticated pulls before you cancel. DOCKER DESKTOP LICENSING. Docker Desktop requires a paid subscription for commercial use in organisations above Docker's size threshold. Cancelling the subscription does not remove Docker Desktop from anybody's laptop, but it does change whether using it is licensed — that is a compliance question rather than a technical one, and it is worth answering deliberately. Your images and repositories stay; private repositories beyond the free allowance become inaccessible rather than deleted. The plan runs to the end of the period paid for.

What else are you paying for?

Find possible recurring subscriptions in your bank statement. Cancel OS reads a statement export you give it and flags the charges that look recurring, for you to confirm.
