- What happens after you cancel
- UNPAID INVOICES are the thing to deal with first. If clients are paying you through FreshBooks payment links, those links and the online payment flow stop working when the account does — so any invoice still outstanding needs chasing, re-issuing elsewhere, or paying before you cancel. An invoice a client cannot pay is an invoice that quietly does not get paid. Export the accounting records: invoices, expenses, payments, clients and the reports. These are business records with a legal retention period, and the subscription is not what satisfies it. Recurring invoice profiles and automatic payment collection stop, which means clients on automatic billing simply stop being billed. Decide deliberately what replaces that. FreshBooks bills per billable client on some plans, so reducing clients is an alternative to cancelling. The plan runs to the end of the period paid for.
