Kindle Unlimited can be cancelled direct and Amazon — and the steps are completely different. Check the last charge on your statement if you are not sure.

- Everything you borrowed goes back. Access runs to your next billing date and after that the titles you have checked out are removed from your devices, including ones already downloaded — Kindle Unlimited is a library card, not a purchase. Books you actually bought are unaffected and stay in your library forever. The part worth knowing is that your highlights, notes and bookmarks are kept on your Amazon account rather than inside the borrowed book, so if you buy one of those titles later your annotations come back with it.

Open Your Memberships & Subscriptions on Amazon
Find the subscription and select Manage subscription
Choose to end the subscription and confirm

- None — cancelling takes effect straight away.
- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- Access runs to the end of the current billing period and Amazon shows you that date when you confirm — write it down, because it is the day to check your statement. Nothing is refunded for the unused part. This ends the subscription only: your Amazon account, and your account with the service itself, are both untouched.
