Cancelling N26

Open the N26 app and go to My Account
Open Your membership
Choose Modify or cancel Membership
You can also move straight to a different paid membership without dropping to Standard first.
Check the date your current term ends
- Notice period
- None — cancelling takes effect straight away. Cancellable in the app any time after the 14-day revocation period. A 12-month membership term runs to its end.

- What happens after you cancel
- THE THING PEOPLE GET WRONG: cancelling the membership does NOT close your N26 bank account. The account stays open, your money stays where it is, and you carry on banking — what ends is the paid tier. At the end of the term the account is downgraded automatically and a virtual card is issued. Keep at least €10 in the account at that moment, because N26 asks for it. On Metal specifically, two things stop together: the insurance benefits end, and the metal card itself is deactivated — so do not plan to keep using it. Inside the first 14 days there is a revocation right; after that you can cancel in the app at any time, and a 12-month membership still runs to the end of its term.
