How to cancel NordVPN

How are you billed?
NordVPN can be cancelled direct, Apple, Google Play and Amazon — and the steps are completely different. Check the last charge on your statement if you are not sure.
Cancelling NordVPN directly

Open Billing
The Subscriptions tab inside it lists what you are paying for. Deep links into that tab do not survive the sign-in redirect, so start from Billing.
Turn off auto-renewal and confirm

- Turning off auto-renewal keeps the VPN working to the end of the term you have paid for. The 30-day money-back guarantee is worth reading carefully because of what it excludes: it covers your FIRST subscription, bought directly from NordVPN, within 30 days of that purchase — and it does not cover a renewal, which is usually the charge people want back. No reason is needed and the account only has to be in good standing, but it is claimed through live chat or email rather than a button, and takes up to ten working days to arrive. Bought through an app store or a reseller, their refund policy applies instead of this one.

Cancelling NordVPN through Apple

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, then tap your name
On the web, go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions
Select the subscription, then Cancel Subscription

- At least 1 day before your renewal date. Apple requires cancellation at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for — Apple does not refund the unused part, and cancelling early does not end it sooner. The subscription disappears from your Apple subscriptions list on that date. Two things this does not do: it does not close your account with the service, so anything stored there stays where it is, and it does not get you a refund. Refunds for Apple-billed subscriptions are asked for at reportaproblem.apple.com, not from the merchant, who genuinely cannot issue one.

Cancelling NordVPN through Google Play

Open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions and select the app
Tap Cancel subscription and confirm

- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Google Play does not refund the remainder, and the subscription shows as cancelled with its end date until then. Cancelling here stops Google charging you; it does not close your account with the service or delete anything in it. A refund, if you want one, is requested through Google Play — and only within a short window, after which Google sends you to the developer.

Cancelling NordVPN through Amazon

Open Your Memberships & Subscriptions on Amazon
Find the subscription and select Manage subscription
Choose to end the subscription and confirm

- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- Access runs to the end of the current billing period and Amazon shows you that date when you confirm — write it down, because it is the day to check your statement. Nothing is refunded for the unused part. This ends the subscription only: your Amazon account, and your account with the service itself, are both untouched.

What else are you paying for?
Find possible recurring subscriptions in your bank statement. Cancel OS reads a statement export you give it and flags the charges that look recurring, for you to confirm.
