Turn off automatic renewal
Turning it off does not refund a charge already taken
Contact support for a refund if already billed
- Notice period
- None — cancelling takes effect straight away. Auto-renewal often charges well before the expiry date; turning it off is separate from requesting a refund.

- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- Turning off automatic renewal and getting your money back are two different actions, and the first does not do the second. Protection runs to the end of the term you have paid for — switch it off halfway through an annual subscription and you keep the remaining six months. If you have just been charged for a renewal you did not want, ask for a refund rather than assuming the switch handled it: Norton's annual subscriptions carry a 60-day window counted from that charge, renewals included, and it is granted by contacting support, not by any button in the account. After the window closes the money is generally gone.

Cancelling Norton 360 through Apple
About 3 minutes · Easy
Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, then tap your name
On the web, go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions
Select the subscription, then Cancel Subscription
- Notice period
- At least 1 day before your renewal date. Apple requires cancellation at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for — Apple does not refund the unused part, and cancelling early does not end it sooner. The subscription disappears from your Apple subscriptions list on that date. Two things this does not do: it does not close your account with the service, so anything stored there stays where it is, and it does not get you a refund. Refunds for Apple-billed subscriptions are asked for at reportaproblem.apple.com, not from the merchant, who genuinely cannot issue one.

Cancelling Norton 360 through Google Play

- What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Google Play does not refund the remainder, and the subscription shows as cancelled with its end date until then. Cancelling here stops Google charging you; it does not close your account with the service or delete anything in it. A refund, if you want one, is requested through Google Play — and only within a short window, after which Google sends you to the developer.

- What happens after you cancel
- Access runs to the end of the current billing period and Amazon shows you that date when you confirm — write it down, because it is the day to check your statement. Nothing is refunded for the unused part. This ends the subscription only: your Amazon account, and your account with the service itself, are both untouched.

- What happens after you cancel
- This is cancelled in your Microsoft account rather than with the service itself, and Microsoft offers two different endings that are easy to confuse. Turning off recurring billing leaves the subscription running to the end of the period you have already paid for and simply stops the next charge. Cancelling outright can end it there and then, and for some subscriptions Microsoft returns the unused part of what you paid — which is worth knowing, because it is the opposite of how Apple and Google handle the same situation. Which of the two you are offered depends on the subscription and how recently you were charged, so read the screen rather than assuming. Neither closes your Microsoft account or removes anything you bought outright; only the subscription ends. If the service stored files for you, check what happens to them before you confirm — storage that came with the subscription goes away with it.
