- A LIFETIME Plex Pass does not recur, so if you bought one there is nothing to cancel and any recurring charge you are seeing is something else — a Plex Pass bought through an app store, or a different service entirely. On a recurring pass, your media library, your server and your files are all untouched by cancelling. Plex itself keeps working. What stops are the Pass features: hardware transcoding, downloads for offline viewing, live TV and DVR, and the sharing and management extras. Anything already downloaded to a device stops playing. Access runs to the end of the period paid for. If you subscribed through Apple or Google rather than plex.tv, that store holds the subscription and plex.tv cannot cancel it.
