Sign in and open Account and Settings, then Billing and Subscription
Cancel the subscription

- These are STATUTORY RECORDS, and that is what makes accounting software different from every other subscription here. Tax authorities generally require you to keep several years of accounts, and "it was in QuickBooks and I cancelled" is not a defence. Export everything — the profit and loss, balance sheet, general ledger, transaction detail, customer and supplier lists, and the full company data export — and store it somewhere you will still have it in seven years. QuickBooks Online keeps a cancelled company in READ-ONLY form for a period after cancellation, which is a grace window rather than a filing system. Use it to check nothing is missing, not as your archive. PAYROLL and the other add-ons are separate subscriptions and are cancelled separately. If you are running payroll, finish the tax year properly — final submissions and employee year-end forms — before ending it, because doing that afterwards is much harder. Bank feeds stop, so anything reconciling automatically stops reconciling. If an accountant has access, tell them before rather than after.
