What happens after you cancel
This is the cancellation on this list most likely to lose you something you wanted to keep. On the free plan Slack shows only the most recent 90 DAYS of message and file history — everything older is hidden to make room — and Slack also deletes free-workspace data older than one year on a rolling basis. A workspace people have been treating as the searchable record of a project stops being one, and the oldest part of it eventually goes for good. Export the workspace BEFORE the plan ends if that history matters. Smaller things change with it: the free plan allows 10 apps and integrations, so anything beyond that has to be uninstalled, and the custom sections people have organised their sidebars into are collapsed back into Channels, DMs and Starred. The channels, the members and the recent conversations all stay. It is the depth that goes, not the workspace.
