- Sling is built out of parts, and cancelling the base service does not necessarily stop every part. Extras — sports packs, premium channels, cloud DVR upgrades, Spanish-language packages — are separate subscriptions on the same account, and a charge that continues after you cancel is usually one of those rather than a mistake. Go through the list and cancel each one. Access runs to the end of the paid month; Sling does not pro-rate. Your DVR recordings go with the subscription. Sling will offer a discount or free days during the flow. Accepting resumes the subscription, which is exactly what it is there for.
