- This is a CONTRACT rather than a subscription, and it is cancelled by notice rather than by a button. Sprout Social agreements renew automatically and the notice period is written into your own contract — so the two things to establish before anything else are your renewal date and what your agreement requires. Acting a week before renewal is usually too late. Put the cancellation in writing to your account contact and keep the reply. An effective date you can evidence is what settles a disputed renewal. Export the reporting first. Sprout's value is largely its history — engagement reports, response times, message archives — and none of it survives the account. Your social profiles themselves are unaffected.
