Annual plans auto-renew. Cancelling after the renewal charge is much harder than before it.

- What happens after you cancel
- SurveyMonkey's ANNUAL AUTO-RENEWAL is what generates most of the complaints about this company, and the defence is simple: find your renewal date and turn auto-renew off well before it, rather than dealing with a charge afterwards. Turning off auto-renewal is a distinct action from cancelling, and it is the one that actually stops the money — do it explicitly and keep the confirmation. Export your results before the plan ends. Dropping to the free tier limits how many responses per survey you can view, so data you have collected can become unreadable while still existing. CSV or Excel exports are a paid feature on some tiers, which is exactly why doing it while subscribed matters. Your surveys and account stay. Paid features — logic, custom branding, unlimited questions, the response limits — revert, and the plan runs to the end of the term you paid for.

What else are you paying for?
Find possible recurring subscriptions in your bank statement. Cancel OS reads a statement export you give it and flags the charges that look recurring, for you to confirm.
