- What happens after you cancel
- A plan is not the same as what is RUNNING, and that distinction is the whole difficulty with hosting bills. Downgrading the plan does not take your projects down, and usage — bandwidth, function invocations, image optimisation, build minutes — keeps accruing against whatever tier you are on. If the goal is to stop paying, deleting or moving the projects is the part that actually does it. Repoint CUSTOM DOMAINS first. If a live site is served from Vercel and you remove the project, the domain stops resolving to anything and the site is simply down — for you and for everyone linking to it. Move the site, change the DNS, confirm it works, then remove. The commercial-use rule catches individuals: Vercel's Hobby tier is for non-commercial use, so downgrading a site that makes money is not a clean answer. Environment variables, logs and preview deployments go with the project.
