How to cancel WordPress.com

Open Purchases
Select the plan, then Cancel subscription

- What happens after you cancel
- Your posts, pages and media stay on the site — this is a downgrade to the free plan, not a deletion. What returns are the WordPress.com ads, and unless you keep a domain the address reverts to a .wordpress.com one. Two things catch people. The domain is a SEPARATE subscription: cancelling the plan does not cancel the domain, which keeps renewing on its own until you cancel it too from the Purchases screen. And if you choose to remove the plan immediately rather than let it run out, plugins and third-party themes are removed straight away, and content created by those plugins goes with them. Cancelling on its own refunds nothing — a refund has to be claimed on the cancellation screen, within 14 days of an annual purchase or renewal or 7 days of a monthly one, and it is not prorated, so cancelling nine months into a year returns nothing.

Cancelling WordPress.com through Apple

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, then tap your name
On the web, go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions
Select the subscription, then Cancel Subscription

- At least 1 day before your renewal date. Apple requires cancellation at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for — Apple does not refund the unused part, and cancelling early does not end it sooner. The subscription disappears from your Apple subscriptions list on that date. Two things this does not do: it does not close your account with the service, so anything stored there stays where it is, and it does not get you a refund. Refunds for Apple-billed subscriptions are asked for at reportaproblem.apple.com, not from the merchant, who genuinely cannot issue one.
