Work out whether you have a subscription or prepaid game time
Prepaid time and WoW Tokens simply run out. Only a recurring subscription needs cancelling.
Sign in at account.blizzard.com and open Subscriptions
Turn off the recurring subscription
Confirm the date your remaining time runs to

- Your characters are safe. Cancelling a World of Warcraft subscription does not delete anything — characters, gold, achievements, mounts and guild membership all stay exactly where they are, and they are still there whenever you come back. What you lose is the ability to play them above the free trial's level cap. Check what you actually have first. Blizzard sells a RECURRING subscription and also PREPAID game time, including time bought with a WoW Token. Prepaid time is not a subscription: it expires on its own and there is nothing to cancel. Only the recurring one keeps charging. Cancelling stops the renewal and leaves the game time you have already paid for intact, so you keep playing until it runs out. Expansions you have bought are purchases and are not affected.
