How to cancel YouTube TV

How are you billed?
YouTube TV can be cancelled direct, Apple, Google Play and Roku — and the steps are completely different. Check the last charge on your statement if you are not sure.
Cancelling YouTube TV directly

Open tv.youtube.com settings, then Membership
Select Manage, then Cancel
Choose Continue to cancel and confirm

- What happens after you cancel
- Your DVR is on a 21-DAY clock. YouTube TV keeps recorded programmes in your library for 21 days after the membership ends and then they expire — and if you re-join later you may not get them back, and may not get your old promotional price either. Watch what matters inside that window. If the reason is a few quiet months rather than leaving, PAUSE instead of cancelling. A pause keeps your recordings for the length of the pause (still subject to the normal 9-month recording expiry) rather than starting the 21-day countdown, and it is offered on the same screen as the cancellation. Your library preferences — the shows you had set to record — are remembered either way, so resuming does not mean setting everything up again.

Cancelling YouTube TV through Apple

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, then tap your name
On the web, go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions
Select the subscription, then Cancel Subscription

- At least 1 day before your renewal date. Apple requires cancellation at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for — Apple does not refund the unused part, and cancelling early does not end it sooner. The subscription disappears from your Apple subscriptions list on that date. Two things this does not do: it does not close your account with the service, so anything stored there stays where it is, and it does not get you a refund. Refunds for Apple-billed subscriptions are asked for at reportaproblem.apple.com, not from the merchant, who genuinely cannot issue one.

Cancelling YouTube TV through Google Play

Open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions and select the app
Tap Cancel subscription and confirm

- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Google Play does not refund the remainder, and the subscription shows as cancelled with its end date until then. Cancelling here stops Google charging you; it does not close your account with the service or delete anything in it. A refund, if you want one, is requested through Google Play — and only within a short window, after which Google sends you to the developer.

Cancelling YouTube TV through Roku

Open Manage your subscriptions
Select the channel, then Cancel subscription

- How you will know it worked
- Confirmation email.
- What happens after you cancel
- The channel keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for, then stops billing. Roku does not refund the remainder. The channel stays installed on your device and your account with the service still exists — cancelling the Roku subscription only ends Roku's side of the payment.

Find possible recurring subscriptions in your bank statement. Cancel OS reads a statement export you give it and flags the charges that look recurring, for you to confirm.
